Mavericks

I'm planning to update to Mavericks on my Mac Pro - has anyone already done so, and if so, have you found any incompatibilities with programmes such as MacTheRipper (I have version 3.0 r14i that works with Lion), Mpeg Streamclip or Handbrake? I don't actually vid on the Mac, but I use it for all my converting and ripping, so would hate to lose that ability.

EDITED TO ADD: Impatience got the better of me and I upgraded. The only thing affected is Flip4Mac (which enables you to play WMV files in Quicktime) but I hardly ever need that. So... if you're worried about upgrading, I can report that MacTheRipper 3.0 r14i, Mpeg Streamclip and Handbrake seem to be compatible.

I'll give it a try on my no-longer-vidding computer and let you know. though I never did get mac the ripper to work on mountain lion, so I won't know about that.

Glad to hear it! Opening is more than I could ever get my copy of MtR's Lion version to do, so that's probably a pretty good sign?

I ended up getting MacDVDRipper Pro at one point after MacTheRipper wouldn't work on my latest upgrade; FWIW 4.0.7 works for me on MacOS 10.8. (They seem to have it half-price at the moment, not sure if that's a special or permanent drop. You can also download and test it before you buy.)

I need to wait on hearing about a few more bits of software before I try the upgrade to 10.9 - @littleheaven, thanks for your reports!

Yeah, I've been using MacDVDRipper Pro too. But I miss MtR. So simple! So free!

So Mavericks is 10.9 -- Apple seems to be calling it a "desktop upgrade". Is it actually a new OS? (I still haven't downloaded it!)
